We're Off!

Traveling can be daunting, even under the best circumstances. And for some adults, it can seem particularly overwhelming. With Silver Travel Companion services, it doesn’t have to be. If you have a senior or an adult with minor disabilities who wishes to travel but needs a companion, we are here to help. Whether it's around town, an out-of-town event, a personal vacation, a relocation, or whatever your particular needs are, we ensure your loved one’s journey is comfortable and stress-free. Let us give you an idea of how our program works.

Let's Plan Your Trip

  •  The first thing we’d like to do is have a chat to get to know you—either by phone or
    tele-conferencing. We’ll learn about your travel plans and what your expectations are
    and answer any questions you may have. When we’ve gathered all of the necessary

information, we’ll provide you with an estimate for our travel companion services.

  •  After we learn the details of your trip, Silver Travel Companions will research airfares,

book all flights or other means of travel, make hotel reservations, and arrange for
ground transportation to and from your trip’s destination.

  •  We will provide you or your loved ones with an itinerary, along with a checklist we’ve

created that will help you or your traveler when you prepare and pack for the trip.

We're Off!

Silver Travel Companions will help with all travel details for short and long trips. For long trips services include but are not limited to:

  • Arranging for ground transportation to your departure destination.

  • Acquiring wheelchair assistance, if needed. Seek out all available aid from airlines and TSA

  • Handling airport or other means of travel check-in.

  • Guiding the traveler through security checkpoints and assist when boarding.

  • Carrying traveler’s onboard luggage and situating them comfortably for travel.

  • Accompanying travelers during the flight, train ride, or car and bus ride, and assist with any amenities that might be needed (a pillow, blanket, etc.)

  • Handling any travel changes that become necessary due to delayed or canceled flights.

  • Assisting with bathroom trips, acquire snacks or meals waiting for departure or during layovers.

  • Retrieving luggage at baggage claim.

  • Arranging ground transportation and accompany the traveler to the hotel or private residence.

Your Destination Awaits

After we’ve reached your pre-determined destination, our companion will provide these

services for the traveler:

  • Help them get settled in the hotel or other accommodations and assist with unpacking luggage and organizing toiletries.

  • Arrange all transportation to an event, a private home, or places of interest if taking a pleasure vacation.

  • If needed, accompany and assist traveler during adventure or special event.

  • Arrange for safe travel back to the hotel or accommodation.

  • Please let us know if you are using your own accumulated travel miles or hotel stays, are you affiliated with TSA Cares, or do you have a KTN (Known Traveler Number) for TSA precheck expedited screening.

Let's Head Home

When the event or vacation is over and it’s time to leave, we will provide these services:

  • Confirm all flight reservations are on time.

  • Handle check out process from hotel.

  • Provide car service, ride share service, or bus transportation to the place of departure (airport, train station, bus station).

  • Accompany and assist traveler with everything needed for a comfortable and safe experience.

  • Arrange for car service, ride share, or other ground service back home.

General Safety Guidelines

At Silver Travel Companions, OUR PRIORITY IS THE SAFETY OF OUR TRAVELERS.

Our companions have been trained to be always aware of their surroundings. We also

make sure that we have all the proper documentation and permissions for you or your loved one before departure. We will also follow all safety requirements outlined by

the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) and all airline recommendations for travel safety. We adhere to all state laws for identification where required. All vehicle safety guidelines will be followed as set forth by means of travel.

Communication is Everything

We understand the unease that you, families, and caregivers may feel when entrusting their traveler to someone other than themselves. We place great importance on keeping loved ones informed about how the trip is progressing. We will inform friends and family-proxy or next of kin by phone chat or text when:

 

  • There are travel delays or changes in the planned itinerary.

  • When we’ve reached key destination points during the trip.

  • If the traveler has additional needs while at their accommodations.

  • When friends and family just want to chat.​
